Drugstore Haul - Elf, Tree Hut, Rimmel, Softlips, Chi, Etc.

Good morning, everybody!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  Here are a few beauty related things I picked up at K-Mart and Wal-Mart this week!

I picked this small tub of finger nail polish remover to put in my travel toiletry bag.  I usually keep the nail polish remover wipes in it, but I have used up all of the ones that I had and thought this would be handy to throw in there.  We have a couple of trips coming up and I always like to have some of this on hand in case my polish starts chipping!

Emilynoel83 was talking about these on YouTube the other day, so I grabbed one to give it a try.  She really liked the purplish color (Bombshell I think?), but that didn't look like something I would wear too often.  Instead, I picked up the shade Blushing which is a really pretty mauve.

These glazed lip paints are similar to the Too Faced Melted lipsticks and the OCC Lip Tars in that they are super glossy and pigmented lip colors, kind of a cross between lipstick and lip gloss.  The LA Girl lip paints are made with Vitamin E and peppermint oil and they feel just fabulous on your lips.  Definitely worth trying out, they have several colors to choose from, and with a price tag of around $4 it's also something that won't break the bank.

My local K-Mart had really improved their Elf section in the makeup aisle.  I grabbed another brush of theirs, the Blending Eye Brush.  It's kind of like a really big, soft pencil brush that will be great for, well, blending!  Elf has some great brushes that I have always enjoyed in my collection, and you cannot beat the $1 price tag.

Oh my goodness...these new Softlips cubes feel uh-mazing on your lips!  I have been buying/using so many new lip balms and treatments lately, and this is by far one of the standouts.  Mine is in Blueberry Pomegranate.

Ever since I had the whole skin cancer thing I have been pasty white.  I really like Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs (both the lotion and the spray can versions.)  It's something you can just put on for the day and then wash off in the shower.  It covers a lot of your imperfections and makes you look like you have a tan.  I bought and used one bottle of this already this summer, so I picked up a couple more bottles the other day.  The medium shade looks a little orange, so I grabbed a bottle of the light to try as well.  We will see I guess!

Out of all the products that I am mentioning in this post, this Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub is hands down my favorite.  I actually make my own sugar scrub here at the house, and this smells just like it!  The almond scent is definitely what you smell the most when you take a whiff of this stuff's sweet aroma.   This stuff is thick and moisturizing and just lovely.  It comes in different flavors, I know there was like a Mango Shea Butter flavor, as well as a couple of others (can't remember.)  But the Almond & Honey is DEFINITELY my favorite.  I hadn't ever tried anything from this line, so this is the only thing I purchased.  There were matching tubs of body butter and body wash, and I will definitely pick those up the next time I go to Wal-Mart.  I know Ulta also sells this brand.  LOVEEEE.

I have used Chi's Silk Infusion for years.  If you're not familiar with it, it is basically just a leave in product for your hair that makes it soft, shiny, and way more manageable.  It is paraben free, isn't tested on animals, and it's made in the USA!  I got the big bottle of this, and it cost around $23.  I know that may sound like a lot, but this stuff lasts so long.  I had been out of it for several months now and finally remembered to grab a bottle at Wal-Mart.  I'm so happy they carry this brand now!

I love paper masks (no matter how scary they make you look, lol).  This Rose Brightening one feels great on your skin, nice and cooling, and leaves your face so much more luminous after you get done.  It's serum infused with Rose Extract and is jam-packed with vitamin C.  Definitely my favorite mask in the Freeman line.

And yeah, I'm on a facial/masque kick.  I grabbed a bottle of the Freeman Cucumber Peel-Off Mask for days I want to deep clean.   This is a great inexpensive option to some of the more $$$ masks on the market that work the same basic way.

And of course I had to get some wax melts.  Picked up one of my old standbys, the Butterscotch Maple Cream.  All summer I have used coconut/beachy scents, but where we are entering the final weeks of summer, I find myself reaching for richer aromas.  I'm a total fall girl and I can't wait for it to get here!!!

The other flavor of wax melts I got were the Pure White Woods.  If you like BBW's Mahogany Teakwood scent, this smells almost exactly like it.  A strong cologne scent, as you probably are aware, Mahogany Teakwood is known for smelling like the Abercrombie & Fitch stores.  That really nice smell that wafts through the air in the mall, that's what these cubes smell like.  Love them!

My favorite scent for a plug-in is BBW Marshmallow Fireside.  Best. Home. Scent. Ever. Period.  But when I don't have that on hand, I always keep some of these Febreze ones on hand.  This one sounded too good to pass up, it's the Toasted Amond flavor.  These are the duos, one side is almond and one side is caramel.  Ugh.  Sounds delicious!

So with all this beauty stuff on hand, what else is a girl supposed to do?  I had the evening to myself last night and went ahead and had a total R&R beauty fest.  Here I am in all my glory in the rose paper face mask.  Such a great look, wouldn't you agree?

And here is where I spent most of my evening, in the jacuzzi with YouTube by candlelight.  I soaked in bubbles for probably an hour, then exfoliated head to toe with my Almond & Honey sugar scrub.

When I finally hopped out of the tub I greased up with my Aveeno bath oil and Body Shop Peach body butter.  I rubbed some Living Proof Perfect Hair Day in my tresses and slapped some Skin MD on my face and went to bed.  All this pampering made me sleep like a baby.  Sighhhh.
Hope this gives you some ideas on some goodies you might want to try next time you are at the store.  If you have any questions just let me know!  Thanks for taking the time out of your day to visit my blog.  Come back again SOON!
