Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy

It's that wonderful time of year when we put away all of our (beloved) light/bright neons and creamy/pretty pastels, and begin dragging out our dark and vampy lacquers for that perfect manicure. Fall is my favorite time of year, and I embrace every aspect of it. I love deepening up my shadows, lipsticks, blushes and polishes for a darker look. We spend the spring and summer months sporting the lighter/shimmery/easter egg colors, and it's fun to rock something totally different for a while. I have numerous polishes in my collection, and I have to say, these Revlon ones apply as well as (if not better) than any brand that I own. Today I am talking about the "Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy" polishes.
Basically what you get is a double-ended nail polish 'pen' that has polish/lacquer on one end and a holographic glitter top coat on the other end. They are advertised to give you an iridescent effect inspired by outer space, for a multi-dimensional look. There are 10 shades to choose from and each 'pen' has a gorgeous, dark, creamy polish that is very opaque, which I think really sets off the glitter top coat. These polishes go on FLAWLESSLY. If you are someone who tends to make a mess of dark/bold polishes (like me), then you HAVE to try these. It is the easiest application ever! I picked up 3 of these: Milky Way, Meteor, and Satellite.
The first one I am going to talk about is Milky Way. It is a beautiful dark, creamy, smokey grey polish that is VERY opaque. This is only one coat! No base coat, no top coat, just a single swipe of this polish with a single swipe of the glitter top coat on one finger. This was by far the most opaque polish of the 3 I purchased. LOVE.
A new trend for Fall 2013 is dark/jewel tone nails. I never thought that I would be into green, but a really nice deep, dark emerald is surprisingly beautiful. Meteor is just that. It is super creamy, super opaque, and super pretty. While it is very dark and can look almost black from some angles, when the lighting catches it and the green is really visible well, it's just perfect. (I wish you could see this...crappy iPhone picture, ugh). This is 2 coats (no base, no top coat, one single swipe of the glitter).
And lastly we have Satellite. A deep, dark wine - a color that will never go out of style for fall. I sound like a broken record I know, but again, creamy/dark/opaque/lovely. This is 2 coats (no base, no top, one swipe glitter).
The ONLY bad thing I could say about this product would probably be the amount of product that you get. I got mine at Wal-Mart for a little less than $7 each. You get 0.26 fl oz - total. That's for both ends. Just to give you an idea, the standard size OPI bottle is 0.5 fl oz. So, while these might not last long if you are using them frequently, ultimately (in my humble opinion) they are totally worth it for the beautiful manicure you achieve when using them. Let me know which ones are your favorites! Thanks for stopping by!
