What's In My Travel Makeup Bag!

Hey guys!  If you follow my blog then you probably already know that we have done quite a bit of traveling this month.  We pretty much covered the entire East coast, going from the southern most state (Florida) all the way up to the northern most state (Maine).  As someone who travels very frequently, I have really perfected my travel makeup bag over the years.  I am someone who is always switching things up, so this will likely change in future trips somewhat, but this month it really has been perfect.  When you have a love for makeup and all things beauty (hello...I have a beauty blog)...it's hard to throw just a handful of stuff in a bag and be content with it.  At home I have so much variety and stuff to choose from, I hate being so limited while I am away.  So, you very well might look at this travel makeup bag and think that I've packed way too much, and then there will probably be some of you that look at this and think it's not enough.  The more you travel the better idea you get of what you need, what you'll actually use, and what you could really leave at home.  Here is what I packed and what I have been using the majority of this month!

The past couple of trips I have went on I have used this bag from Tarte to house my makeup.  It came in one of their holiday sets in 2013.  It folds up really small and compact, yet it holds everything in different compartments and is so neat.  Love this bag!

Super slender and takes up such little space in your suitcase!

This bag has 3 main compartments:  2 zip pockets and then a clear zip compartment that snaps in and out, so you can use this bag on it's own if you wanted to.

Where this little makeup bag is clear you could totally unsnap it out of this bag and take it on the plane (with appropriate sized products/liquids of course).   When I travel I like having a nude, brown and black eyeliner pencil.  I also like having a black liquid liner, in case I feel like doing a cat eye.  I always like a bright lip color to have handy, and then a basic balm stain for everyday wear, as well as a neutral shimmery gloss.  With all of those things I can create any look I want.  Travel size items are ideal, that's why I adore the all of the point perks from Sephora - they're perfect for traveling.

Contents:
-3 deluxe mascara samples:  Estee Lauder, Dior, Giorgio Armani
-Black liquid liner:  Revlon Skinny Eyeliner
-Fleshtone eyeliner:  Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude
-Black eyeliner:  Urban Decay 24/7 in Black Velvet
-Brown eyeliner:  Rimmel Scandaleyes in Brown
-Balm Stain:  Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Stick in Sweet Watermelon
-Concealer:  Maybelline Dream Lumi in Radiant
-Red lipstick:  Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in #400
-Shimmery lip gloss:  Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Bare Sparkle
-Perfume for me:  Replica Beach Walk & Coach Poppy
-Cologne for David:  Dolce & Gabbana and Giorgio Armani
-Eyeliner sharpener

In terms of face products and eyeshadow, I have to have a little variety.  I wanted a nice, matte pink blush and also a brighter more colorful matte blush.  I always use MAC Emphasize to set my undereye concealer, and I have one that I keep just in my travel makeup bag.  I like to have an eyeshadow palette on me that has several shadows in it to choose from.  I am a neutral eyeshadow gal, but I like a mix of shimmer and matte shades.  I hate all matte or all shimmer palettes, I have to have a mix.

Middle compartment:
-Sephora Z Palette - NYX Peach blush, Essence Life's a Cherry blush, MAC Pro Powder in Emphasize, Nars Devotee Highlight
-Stila Eyes are the Window Palette in Soul

Other than the MAC powder, these are all products that I de-potted to use in my Z Palettes.

One of my favorite palettes of life, it has EVERYTHING I need and want in a palette.  Matte cream shades for the browbone, matte midtone crease shades, shimmery lid and inner corner shadows, deep/dark matte shades for the crease and outer corner.  You could get any kind of look you wanted with this palette, it is perfection!!!

And in the bottom pocket I have everything else - bronzer, CC Cream (I didn't pack foundation), powder, brow stuff, makeup setting spray, foundation primers, eyeshadow primers, etc.  As I first mentioned in this blog post, my first trip this month was to Florida, which is super hot/sunny/balmy/humid.  Anytime I travel somewhere tropical like that I only take my CC Cream, as foundation is just too heavy in that kind of environment.  This particular CC Cream is great because it's your skincare, makeup, and sunscreen all in one.  It worked so well in Florida that I just kept it in my bag for when I went up north!

Contents:
-Bronzer:  Nars Tahiti Laguna Bronzer (includes the baby Ita brush for contouring)
-Setting powder:  Rimmel Stay Matte
-CC Cream:  It Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50
-Setting Spray:  Skindinavia No More Shine
-Eye Primers:  the Balm Put a Lid On It & Lorac Behind the Scenes
-Face Primer:  Benefit The Porefessional
-Brow products:  Anastasia Brow Wiz and Dip Brow Pomade

That's it guys!  Hope this gives you some ideas on what to pack in your makeup bag when you go on vacation this year!  Also, let me know if you have any tips/tricks and secrets that you think I could benefit from.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Muuuuahhh!
