July 2015 Empties!

Hey guys!  Today I am doing yet another Empties post!  I can't believe I have went through this much stuff, it feels like I just did one.  I have a horrible habit of constantly opening up and trying new things without actually finishing whatever product I'm using first.  I am that person that has 30 half used bottles of shampoo and conditioner junking up my bathroom, lol.  I have been on a mission to use up some of my stuff and to declutter things a bit, and it really is starting to show.  Here's what I've used and what I've thought about each product!

I usually like to start off with whatever candles I have burned, just to kind of get that out of the way and get to more beauty based stuff.  I recently finished a Georgia Peach one from BBW (Bath and Body Works), and I really liked it.  In the hot Summer months I usually reach for fruity or beachy smelling ones, and this one was perfect.  Not super strong or overpowering, but light and fruity and definitely noticeable.  Would definitely repurchase.

I also finished up a Honolulu Sun candle, (also from BBW).  This baby was delicioso!  Super strong and fragrant, you can smell this in multiple rooms of your house when you are burning it.  Would SO buy this again!!!

My skin definitely responds better to masks and chemical exfoliants as opposed to physical exfoliants.  I love getting mask samples from Sephora to see what's new and to see what my skin responds best to.  This Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask by Peter Thomas Roth was grrrrrreat.  It made my face feel super clean and supple without leaving it tight or uncomfortable.  Would definitely buy a full size of this!

I was so incredibly sad to use up yet another Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.  This is one of the best eye primers out there, have and will always repurchase (after I use up some of the ones I have now, of course).

Earlier this Summer I did a blog post (Sun Savvy:  9 Tips For Enjoying Summer When You've Had Skin Cancer) about sunscreen and products that contain sunscreen.  While I was looking through my stuff and gathering items for the post, I realized that some of my stuff smelled a little funny and had expired.  You can tell immediately when this has happened, as your product will smell really chemically or off-putting.  A couple of my Fresh Sugar lip balms had expired, as well as a couple of my EOS lip balms.  I immediately replaced my EOS Lemon Drop lip balm, as it contains SPF 15 and is so great for Summer.  I have several Sugar Fresh lip balms right now, so there was no need to replace these at the moment.

I never hear anyone mention the Matrix Sleek line.  I have bought and used the shampoo and conditioner from this line for YEARSSSSS.  It smells soooooo good!  I love the scent of this so much that I often use it to clean my makeup brushes so that I can smell it on them when I use them.  I have SO much shampoo/conditioner to use and go through right now, but I will obviously pick this up again at some point.

This was a 2 step Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel by Korres that I got from Sephora.  This felt super nice on my face, like I said before, my skin really loves masks and chemical exfoliants.  This is kind of expensive, (I think it runs about $64 from Sephora) so I am not sure if I would purchase this.  It made my skin super soft and radiant though, so maybe if it was on sale perhaps?

I love anyyyyything with rose in it, so I always pick this Rose Face Mask by Fresh sample up when they have it on Sephora.  It seems to be on there quite regularly, so if you are interested in trying it keep an eye out for it.  It's a simple,no frills face mask that leaves your skin feeling really hydrated.  I actually have a deluxe size sample jar of this, but after I go through it I would totally consider buying a full size of this product.

I think I got this Murad Clarifying Wipe in a gift with purchase skincare bag?  I'm not sure, it might have been just a sample from Sephora too.  But anyways, I actually love Murad skincare products and this felt great.  I only had one, so I can't tell you too much about how effective it was, but I know it felt nice on my skin.  After I use up some of my skincare products that I have I am probably going to buy some Murad products to try out.

I hate that Sephora no longer sells Soap & Glory products, because I really love them!  Their body butters rock and I would definitely purchase a full size tub of this if I was to run across it somewhere.
:-(

The Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner is one of my most repurchased drugstore conditioners of life.  It is great!  It really conditions my naturally wavy/dry/damaged hair and makes it really soft.  This and the Loreal Total Repair Extreme conditioner are my FAVORITE drugstore conditioners.

I LOVE the Cherry Blossom scent from BBW, it is one of the BEST scents they have ever had.  Do not confuse this with their popular Japanese Cherry Blossom scent, I actually do not care for that scent at all.  I don't think they carry the basic Cherry Blossom scent in their store anymore, I'm pretty sure you have to order everything online in this scent.  I had this Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in my bathroom and loooooooved it.  It left such a sweet aroma on my hands after washing them.   I keep seasonal soaps at my sink, and this was perfect for Spring.  And while I will probably use more seasonally appropriate soaps for the remainder of the year, I would definitely repurchase this.

I bought this body lotion yearssss ago somewhere in Las Vegas.  The scent of this is Birthday Cake Batter and it is heavenly!  I looked online to see where you can get this now, but I wasn't able to find it.  It's super moisturizing and it smells good enough to eat.  If I ever stumble across this again I will definitely pick it up!

I have mentioned several times how much I love the Covergirl Lash Perfection mascara.  (I actually did a whole blog post on it you can see here).  This mascara has been discontinued and I bought 6 tubes on Amazon for $11.  I have been slowly going through them and using them up, after these are gone then I don't plan on trying to find more, as I don't want to buy really old mascara that is no longer in production.

It took forever and a day to go through these Equate Exfoliating Wet Cleansing Towelettes.  Ugh.  There are 60 in a pack, but these come in a bundle so you get 2 packs total for $6.97.  That's 120 wipes for less than $7, which is the main reason why I purchased them.  To put it simply, I don't like these and I will never repurchase them.  I mean, they were okay, but definitely not what I would call good.  They weren't super moist, I usually had to use at least 2 to get my makeup off, and I didn't like how my skin felt after I used them.  I really didn't care for anything about these.  My favorite makeup removing wipes are the Ponds Luminous Clean ones, which are $4.63 for 30.  You can't even compare the quality and performance, it is far and away better than the Equate ones.  Obviously I won't be purchasing these EVER again.

I did quite a bit of traveling in the month of June, so I thought I would include some stuff I used up in my travel toiletry bag.  I have used and loved the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser for a couple of years now.  It's just a simple facial wash that leaves your skin feeling really clean.  I have the big 5oz bottle of this that I keep at home, but I have several of these travel sized bottles that are great to take with you on the go.  My favorite dry shampoo is the Batiste one in the Blush scent.  I keep the full size bottles at home, and I buy these travel size ones at Ulta for my travel toiletry bag.  I always pack various face masks with me to use while I am away, and one of the ones I used this month was the Sephora Pore Clarifying Mask.  To be honest, I really didn't care for this.  It was super thick and hard to use,  and I would never buy or use this product again.  I looked on their site for this particular product to link it and it doesn't appear to be available anymore. And then lastly I used up an Aveeno Oatmeal Body Lotion sample.  I love Aveeno and pretty much every single product I've ever used from the line, and this was great to use on the go.  Will always use and repurchase their products!

The Suave Humectant Moisture Shampoo is such a great drugstore shampoo!  It's dirt cheap and it is so gentle on your hair.  This 28oz bottle is only $2.88!  Just goes to show, you don't have to pay a fortune for good products!

I have mentioned this soooo many times on my blog, I loveeeee the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo.  While this is NOT something you are gonna want to use everyday, this shampoo is a great deep-cleaner to use here and there to really get rid of product buildup on your hair.

I know a lot of people don't really care for Pantene hair products, but I actually really enjoy them.  I love getting these big pump bottles of shampoo and conditioner at Big Lots for $5.  They have SO many varieties to choose from and I really do like all of the ones I have tried.  (Pictured:  Volume Shampoo).

(Pictured:  Everlasting Ends Conditioner)

This is my favorite hand soap to keep in the kitchen, the Meyer Lemon Gentle Foaming Hand Soap from BBW.  I already had a backup purchased when I used this one all up!

I used up 2 of my liquid eyeliner pens and I had 1 pencil eyeliner that dried out.  I absolutely LOVE both the Physician's Formula Eye Booster Pen and the Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen.  They are both THE BEST drugstore options for eyeliner pens, I would definitely purchase both of these again. I am currently using my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Pen right now, but I honestly like the Physician's Formula pen just as much.  As far as the Elf eyeliner pencil goes, I honestly forgot that I had this and I let it sit for so long it dried out.  I should've used this more, as I love me a purple eyeliner from time to time.  This one was okay, not the best but not the worst.

I usually always have a BBW body lotion out and in rotation at any given time, and I used up another one of my Lemon Vanilla ones.  This was a limited edition scent from a couple of years ago and I liked it so much I bought like 4 or 5 bottles of it when it went on sale.  It's just a light, creamy lemon scent that smells so simple and fresh.  Hopefully they will offer this again sometime, as BBW tends to do.

I have used up various facial products.  Out of this bunch I really enjoyed the Shiseido Bio-Performance Glow Revival Serum, the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, and the Loreal Youth Code Serum.  Serums are my favorite product for the skin, so I love getting deluxe sized samples when I can.

And last but certainly not least, my tried and true ride or die favorite hairspray of all time, my beloved TRESemme Tres Two Extra Firm Control Spray.  It really helps hold your style without leaving your hair crunchy and stiff, I will always repurchase this!  Just make sure if you grab yourself some of this that you do NOT get the Tres Two Ultra Fine Mist!

My goodness!  That was a LOT of empties!  Thanks for stopping by and kudos to you if you made it through this entire blog post, haha.
