The Perfect Navy Blazer: J.Crew Campbell Blazer Unboxing And Try-On!

Hey guys!  While I am a big fan of bargain shopping and finding cheaper/more affordable everyday options, I wholeheartedly believe there are certain items in your wardrobe worth investing in.  A great blazer is a staple anyone's closet, and if you buy a really good quality one it can last you for years to come.  Seersucker, chino, chambray, velvet, denim, cotton, or classic wool, there is a type out there to suit everyone.  You can't beat a great navy or black, but as far as everything else goes that basically depends on your individual taste.  Myself, I prefer my black blazer to be totally blacked out.  Black buttons, black everything.  When I was shopping for a navy blazer I knew I wanted mine to have gold hardware and details on it.  I simply love the look of gold with navy.  So, when I was ready to make this purchase, I went to the one place I know I can count on, J.Crew.  J.Crew has long been a favorite place of mine to shop, and they are the first place I go when I want something nice.  Their stuff is just such great quality, always made so well (and also made to last).  Classic, simple, and even slightly preppy, their stuff is just the best.  Definitely check them out if you are looking to invest in some nice suiting pieces or even for some chinos or jeans or basic everyday clothing pieces.  Anyways, let's get to the blazer.

I decided to go with a classic wool flannel blazer, because it's lightweight enough to not be too bulky, and it has a slight hint of stretch (2%).  I am 5'8", and while that is not extremely tall I did go ahead and get mine in the 'Tall' size, and it fits perfectly.  The sleeves are really long (not too much tho), and the blazer hits right at my hip.  Exactly what I was looking for!

Superb packaging, as always.

-Wool with a hint of stretch
-Notch collar
-Single button closure
-Pockets
-Slim, feminine fit
-Piped seams
-Interior handkerchief pocket
-Poly lining

The buttons are gold with navy accents.  SO pretty.

"...handkerchief pocket for stashing headphones or your favorite lipstick."

Should you choose to raise the collar, the underside is a gorgeous red that really pops against the navy.  While this is probably not something I will usually do when I wear this, I think it is super cute and chic.  The only time I raise the collar on any of my jackets or coats is if it's super cold outside and I just want to keep my neck warm when I'm walking to the car or something.  Either way, I think this is a super cute aspect to this blazer.

My favorite way to style a blazer is with a plain, fitted tee and a scarf with jeans.  That's the great thing about blazers, you can totally dress them up or down!  As mentioned in the item description, this blazer is made kind of small where it is a slim fit.  If you have a large chest (like me), you may want to consider going up a size.  (It is available in petite/regular/tall sizes 0-16).
