November 2015 Empties!

I have come to really dread actually writing out my "Empties" blog posts because they are SOOOOO long.  I have really been trying to use up some of my stuff and it shows.  In case you haven't ever read one of these posts before, I just snap a pic of something before I throw it in the trash and then after I have several items I do a post.  It has only been a couple of months since my last one, but I have used up so much already.  Without further adieu, let's get to it.  For some reason I always like to start with candles <3

I have went through 2 Leaves candles this Fall and just started burning my 3rd one today.  This and Marshmallow Fireside are my favorite candles from Bath and Body Works.  PERFECT this time of year!  Have already repurchased, will always repurchase!

The Buttercream Icing candle was yummy, but almost a little too sweet if you ask me.  It just smelled really, really sugary.  It was strong enough, but I definitely like some other ones I have burned this Fall better.  If it was on sale really cheap I might would buy this again, but still prefer Marshmallow Fireside and Leaves over this one.

Now this was a delicious candle!  It was warm and yummy smelling, a perfect candle to transition from Summer into Fall, as it's a great foodie scent without any pumpkin flavor.  LOVE and will definitely repurchase next year.

This was the last candle I burned in the Summer season.  I really like this candle, it was strong enough and just a light fruity scent that was great to use as we headed into Autumn.  When Summer is winding down like that I don't really want a beachy scent, something light and fruity is more up my alley.
(Piper says she likes it too!!!)

The wax melts from Burt's Bees (available at Walmart) are really good, but this particular flavor is not very strong.  I definitely prefer the Tropical Mango ones if I buy any from this line.  My favorite brand is still to this day the Better Homes and Gardens ones you can find at Walmart.

Moving on to some beauty related things, first up is this shampoo by Pantene.  I adore Pantene products and I love this silicone free Volume shampoo they have in their line.  It gives my hair body without drying it out, my hair just feels good when I use this.  Have repurchased no less than 20 times, and always will!

It's probably hard to see what this is exactly, but it is Intelligent Beauty Lab's Reveal Firming Eye Cream.  I can't even remember where I bought this or why, but it ended up just being one of those eye creams that didn't really do much.  It felt nice (as most eye creams do), but it just didn't really do anything that I could notice.  The pump on top of the bottle actually quit working so I just went ahead and tossed it.  It was probably 2 years old or so anyways.  Even though it wasn't a bad product, I just really don't see a reason why I would ever repurchase.

A tried and true product that is always in my "Empties" posts.  The Ultra Deep Cleansing pore strips from Bioré rock.  If you struggle with blackheads and clogged pores on your nose you need to give these a whirl.

I am a total serum girl, and I especially love anything with vitamin C in it.  This C E Ferulic Vitamin C serum from SkinCeuticals is great.  This is basically an antioxidant serum that protects against free radicals and reduces wrinkles.  Once you put this on you can't wipe it off or wash it off, and it remains effective for at least 72 hours.  It's great...but kind of expensive.  (Over $160 for just 30mL). At some point I would probably invest in this, I was able to get this deluxe sample somewhere along the way.

This was okay.  I am pretty loyal to Bioderma, I just think that is the best makeup remover there is.  This one from Walmart works, just not as good as Bioderma (in my opinion).

My last tube of Covergirl Lash Perfection mascara :-(
This one really worked well for me, but like so many others that have gone before it, it has in fact been discontinued.  I bought several tubes from Amazon long after it was discontinued, and a couple of the tubes had almost dried out.  So long my friend....it was certainly nice knowing you.

It takes for heck and ever to use one of the EOS lip balms up completely, this was actually the first time I ever done it!  This one was strawberry flavored and I just loved it.  Their lemon one is and will always be my favorite, but after that I really liked this strawberry one and their blueberry one.

God knows I love me some good oils (for the hair...skin...whatever), and this one by Alterna was great.  I have numerous Alterna hair products and I have to say, they all pretty much rock.  It's a line that just really works well with my hair.  I can't remember where I got this deluxe sample of it, but this packet lasted me for weeks.  Would definitely repurchase.

At the end of Summer I finished up the last of the OGX shampoos and conditioners that I had hoarded up.  This one smelled really nice and I really liked it, but I think I am going to stick to my 2 favorites when buying haircare at the drugstore (Pantene and L'Oreal).

If you are on a budget and can't afford to invest in really expensive shampoo and conditioner, then I highly recommend trying out some Suave products.  I reach for these repeatedly on occasion.  They are super moisturizing and make my hair sooooooo silky.  Like almost too silky.  That's why I don't use them everyday, they give my hair too much of a slip when I use them consecutively.  I find my hair styles better when it's a tad bit rougher in texture.  But, if you are looking for something to really leave your hair shiny and silky, then try these.

99% of the time when I get out of the shower I like just a good/basic lotion.  I have repurchased this Skin Firming one from Jergens a dozen times or more.  I'm not so sure how well it tones or tightens, but it does feel nice on my skin and it's super affordable.

The accompanying conditioner to the shampoo I mentioned above.  Again, this smelled nice and felt really good in my hair, but I am going to stick with L'Oreal and Pantene products from the drugstore for the time being.

Over the years I have found that I generally ALWAYS like Ole Henriksen products from Sephora.  One of my favorites has to be the Total Truth Vitamin C Eye Cream with SPF 15.  This stuff is super thick but somehow magically sinks in without leaving any greasy residue.  It kept my undereyes feeling moisturized and soft and I would definitely repurchase this.  (You'll see a 2nd Ole Henriksen eye cream further on down in this post).

I used every drop!

I go through more hand cream than anyone I know.  My favorite is still the True Blue Paraffin one from Bath and Body Works, but I really like this one from Avon as well.  I bought a bunch of these several years ago and I am still using them.  The bottles are really big and this stuff lasts forever.  Would repurchase again, but still prefer the BBW one.

Biolage products have always kind of worked for me.  They are just really mild and gentle on the hair, plus I think they smell really nice.  I just really don't think they are any better than my favorites at the drugstore, so I don't see myself repurchasing anytime soon.  I tend to buy more affordable shampoos and daily conditioners, and then invest in deep conditioners, treatments, leave in products, etc.

This was such a great body wash this Summer!  The St. Ives body washes are HUGE and they last forever.  Super affordable, these come in a variety of scents and they feel so nice!  I despise body washes that don't lather up and get sudsy, and this one was just perfect.  Nice and soapy but moisturizing and didn't dry my skin out.  This particular scent, the Indulgent Coconut Milk, was delicious.  A rich, nutty, creamy aroma that I adored.  I will totally get this again next Spring or Summer.

One of the best drugstore finds in history has to be the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle deep conditioners.  These things are dirt cheap (less than 3 bucks I think??) and they work great.  I use them just like any other conditioner, not really like a deep conditioner.  They have several in the line (Moist, Smooth, Shine, Strong, Color) and I've used most of them.  I can't really tell a huge difference between them, they just all feel so nice.  I am never without these!

Another OGX shampoo that I used up.  This one, the Biotin & Collagen one, smelled just like Pink Sugar perfume to me.  It lathered up super well and left my hair really clean feeling.  I've said it a dozen times on here, I am going to stick with the L'Oreal and Pantene shampoos and conditioners for now, but I do enjoy this brand.

I used up 2 Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Boosters.  (I removed the label from one of the jars and washed it and kept it to reuse later).  As I said above, I really like vitamin C products on my skin and this serum rocks.  Will totally repurchase.

Since I liked the Coconut Milk St. Ives body wash so well I thought I would try their most popular flavor, the Oatmeal & Shea Butter body wash.  We traveled quite a bit this Summer and I found this in the travel/trial size section of the drugstore.  This was okay, but I definitely liked the Coconut Milk one better.  SOOOOO many people love this one, so you might want to give it a try, I just prefer the other one.

Another product everyone and their brother recommends is the Midnight Recovery Concentrate from Kiehl's.  I can't remember where I got this little jar from, I think from an order I placed on Nordstrom?  But, it was a decent enough size bottle I could really tell if I liked this product, and as it turns out I really do.  It's just a nighttime facial oil that restores skin while you sleep.  When you wake up your skin just feels soft and supple.  Another thing I noticed when using this is that it really gives your skin a glow.  Would definitely repurchase!

This was the lotion I was using at the end of Summer. Like I said above, I just like a good basic lotion when I get out of the shower, and BBW has the best scented ones in my opinion.  This one was great and I would definitely buy again.

I had a little less than half a bottle of this Pumpkin Latte and Marshmallow Comfort lotion from last year, and I used it up at the main beginning of Fall this year.  I have since repurchased and have been using this all month!  Sooooooo good.

Strawberry Lemonade was the first flavor of anything I ever bought from Bath and Body Works.  We are talking high school days.  I stocked up a couple of years ago when they brought back some of the 'classics' and I have been using them ever since.  This scent always takes me back!  Love.

Maybelline is my favorite drugstore brand of makeup, and I adore their Color Tattoos.  If you haven't ever tried them they are similar to a MAC paint pot.  Cream eyeshadows that are great to use either on their own or as a base, and they have several colors to choose from.

I love the one in "Bold Gold" but unfortunately it did dry out on me.  I have had this no less than 2 years though, this is a problem I run into all the time simply because I have too much makeup, lol.  I am no longer going to buy so many of these products, because I have since had to throw out 2 MAC paint pots for the same reason.  For me it is best I have just one or two cream eyeshadow pots, that way I can use them up before they dry out.  I would definitely repurchase this.

Random empty bag of cotton rounds!  The Swisspers brand seems to usually work well for me, I hate cheap cotton rounds that shed and get cotton in my lashes.  These are fairly nice and I have no complaints.

Yet another OGX hair product.  I realllllyyyyy went through a phase with these.  I love this one, probably one of my favorites from the line.  This brand of haircare is really nice and I recommend trying a couple if you haven't before.  (I heard the Teatree Mint ones in the green bottles are great for school age children, rumor is it helps repel lice!!)

And the last OGX product I have emptied was the Kukui Oil conditioner.  This was a nice conditioner, not super thick as I definitely picked up on the whole 'oil' aspect.  But, I did like this and I would probably repurchase at some point.  I have so many shampoos and conditioners to still use up, I haven't purchased any in almost a year!

This little bottle of lotion was one of those 'free with purchase' type deals a couple of years ago.  I went ahead and used it up this Fall as it was seasonally appropriate.  It was great to keep in my bag and use for on the go.  I always have seasonal lotions or hand creams and hand sanitizer in my bag!

I actually do really like the Dove Nourishing Oil Care shampoo and conditioner.  This reminds me of that shampoo and conditioner you used to be able to find called "Thermasilk."  Do you remember that haircare line?  It always felt like it put oil in my hair, which I really enjoyed and I HATED when they did away with that stuff.  While not as nice, this remind me of that kind of.  Would probably repurchase this at another time.

And we are finally to the end (for now)!  This last item is another eye cream from Ole Henriksen, this one is the Ultimate Lift Eye Gel.  This one feels great on, and as I mentioned before, I really love Ole Henriksen products (eye creams especially).  I have repurchased this a couple of times and I really enjoy it.  This one is more a nighttime eye cream as the other one with the SPF in it is a daytime eye cream.  Both are really nice!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Let me know what products you've been loving or hating!
