Drugstore Products I'm Currently Loving: Hair, Makeup, Etc!!!

Hey guys!  As someone who is constantly trying new things and bringing new products into my rotation, I know something is good when I find myself consistently reaching for the same thing again and again.  Here lately I have found myself doing that with several products from the drugstore, and I wanted to mention them here today.  You won't be surprised by some of these as I mention them all the time but, I don't think I've mentioned some of them.  Either way, here are some things that I have recently really been using and enjoying.

How many times can I say it?  I just really, really, really LOVE the Covergirl Ready, Set Gorgeous liquid and powder foundations.  (I don't use the powder as an actual foundation, I use it just as a setting powder for the liquid foundation).  Please note that I have extremely oily skin, and this foundation is great at keeping oil at bay.  If you have dry skin I'm not so sure how this would work on you, as I can only say how it works on myself.  Great coverage, doesn't look heavy, very little break thru oil, this stuff is just great.  This will probably be my go-to foundation during the muggy, humid months.

I love orange-hued makeup (lip products, blush, eyeshadows), and I love light, kind of swipe on and go type lip products.  So, this Maybelline Color Whisper is just perfect for me.  This isn't super heavy and opaque, it's super light and comfortable on the lips while giving just the right amount of color.  My shade is Orange Attitude, and I keep one in my bag and one in my vanity.  Will use this all Spring and Summer <3

I've mentioned before how much I LOVE the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo.  If you have oily hair or if you use a lot of products in your hair and just really want to get it clean, this shampoo is exactly what you need.  I know a lot of people say this gets their hair too clean, that it almost feels 'stripped' but that isn't the case with me.  When I use this my hair is so fluffy and soft, I could use this almost every single time I wash my hair and be completely fine.  (I usually wash my hair every other day).  That being said, the bottle that you get is very small (6oz) and it can be quite hard to find, as not all of the stores around me carry it.  So, I wanted to find a good clarifying shampoo that would work similarly.  I recently purchased the Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo at Wal-Mart (30oz) for $1.50!  So cheap and works so well!  This is not as clarifying as the Neutrogena one, and while that one will definitely still have it's own use in my beauty arsenal (the occasional deep clean), this one is definitely mild enough to use every single time I wash my hair.  I love how clean it makes my hair feel without over drying or stripping.

Through the years I have tried numerous Dove products:  soap, deodorant, various shampoos and conditioners, body washes, etc.  And while I ADORE most of their stuff, I have never been too crazy about their hair care.  That is until I tried the Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner.  This stuff makes my hair crazy soft.  And while typically I like really thick heavy conditioners, I'm surprised how well this thinner-consistency one performs.  I'm not for sure if it's just this conditioner or if it's this conditioner paired with the clarifying Suave shampoo, but my hair feels so silky!  I tend to always use new things, but I really am content using these 2 products (rotated out with my L'Oreal Total Repair Extreme shampoo/conditioner) for the time being.

I have mentioned before that for years now I pair 2 products in my hair every single time I wash it:

1 - a dab of my Chi Silk Infusion (which is a clear, oily looking product)
 2 - a creamy, lotion type product

Most frequently the combo I use is the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5 in 1 Treatment + Chi Silk Infusion.  Those 2 products work together beautifully.  But, the Ogx Coconut Milk Split Ends Mender works almost just as well!  After washing my hair I just put a dab of this with a dab of the Silk Infusion throughout the length of my hair and style as usual.  It really helps tame frizz and it makes your hair shiny.  The lotion type product + the clear/oily type product combination works wonders for me in general.

Chi Silk Infusion is sold in the regular hair care aisle at Walmart now, I get the biggest bottle they have (6oz) for around $24.  Have used this for probably 10 years or so, and I will always purchase this as long as they make it!

I have purchased scrubs from every brand imaginable, and I always go back to this one.  St. Ives Apricot Scrub is no joke, probably the highest exfoliation factor possible in a scrub!  This is not one of those scrubs that has maybe one or two little scrubbies here and there, honey this stuff is packed with scrubbies!  You want exfoliation, honey you will get exfoliation lol.  Leaves your skin feeling so clean and invigorated, I love using this in the shower!

And last but not least, the lotion I am currently using.  I can't say for sure if this does diddly-squat in terms of skin firming, but I can say this lotion feels nice and I like the idea that I'm using something that supposedly firms the skin.  Can't hurt, right?  This does have a slight perfume scent, so if you're not into scents you might not like this one.  Bottom line - it's cheap, feels great, keeps your skin moisturized, and it's supposed to help keep your skin firm - perfect for me.

Alrighty guys, that's it for now!  Beauty products don't have to be expensive to be good, there are great items available at any price level.  As always, pick what's worth investing in and then take advantage of the lower-cost beauty items as well.  Let me know what drugstore items you're currently loving!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
