Nashville Getaway: The Grand Ole Opry & Marcy Jo's Mealhouse!

Hey guys!  We went on a weekend getaway to Nashville this weekend and I thought I'd share some photos of some of the things we did.  It's such a great city with so much to do, I highly recommend going there if you ever get the chance!  This was just my 2nd time ever going, but I definitely plan on going many, many more times again.

MOTD:  Make Up For Ever HD foundation, Coty Airspun powder, MAC Prep + Prime in Radiant Rose, MAC Emphasize, Benefit Hoola bronzer, Nars Sin blush, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light, Makeup Geek Vegas Lights palette, Anastasia Brow Wiz, Anastasia clear brow gel, Maybelline Rocket Volume mascara, MAC Syrup lipstick, Maybelline Colorsensational Elixir in Glistening Amber, UD deslick makeup setting spray

A trip to Nashville is never complete without a trip to the Opry, and we grabbed dinner at the Opry Backstage Grill to get things started.

Loved getting to spend some time with the aunt and uncle <3

OOTD:  Dress from Old Navy, Old West leather cowgirl boots, and statement necklace from Walmart

There were numerous people performing, and all of them were so good!  I didn't take too many pics, but here are a few that I did get.

Ricky Scaggs

Aaron Tippin

One of my favorites - Joe Diffie

John Conlee in his Rose Colored Glasses

Little Big Town

It was indeed a special night at the Opry, Reba McEntire stopped by to ask Little Big Town if they wanted to be the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry!  It was great!

We went backstage after the show, a definite must-do if you ever go.  I actually did the tour when I was here last year, but had to do it again because it's so much fun.  You get to see all of the dressing rooms and even get to go onstage 'into the circle'.

Sara Haze (who also performed during the show) stepped out of her dressing room to meet us.  She's so talented and super sweet and down to earth.  This was her 19th time performing at the Opry!

We got to meet Jeannie Seely, an Opry member since 1967.  So classy and witty, she was a hoot!

About a half an hour away from Nashville is this adorable little diner called "Marcy Jo's Mealhouse"....(actually located in Columbia, TN to be exact).  If you've ever heard of country music's Joey + Rory then you might have heard of this place.  (Marcy is Rory's sister).  Literally in the fork of the road, this hole in the wall is a hidden gem.  Simple, intimate & cozy, the people are as friendly as the food is delicious.

Rory's daughter Hopie was our waitress for the day, she's as sweet and down to earth as you'd imagine.  This is the size of the entire dining area, so as you can see there's not much seating room.  I was afraid we'd have to wait for a table, but we were seated immediately.  Upstairs in the loft they have several goodies available for purchase (homemade soaps, guitar string jewelry, hats, coffee cups, etc.).  As far as what we ate, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with french fries, David had the fried catfish sandwich with sweet potato fries, my aunt had the chicken salad sandwich with fries, and my uncle had the gravy and biscuits.  For dessert we ordered a couple pieces of Elvis cake and split it between us.  Elvis cake is their house buttercream cake with a pineapple/cream cheese/pecan topping (so good).  GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU EVER GET THE CHANCE!!!

Joey and Rory have concerts in their barn at their home occasionally, so we drove down the road to see where it was located.  It's just a couple of minutes from the restaurant, and is just a beautiful property.  When and if they do have more concerts there, we definitely plan on attending!

Hope you guys enjoyed sharing the photos of our weekend getaway to Music City, USA!  So many things to do and see, go to Nashville if you ever get the chance!  Perhaps we will see you there - xoxoxo!
